As a small luxury handmade soap manufacturer based in Lancashire, we recognise our responsibility to protect the environment whilst delivering exceptional products to our customers.

Soaps and Dreams endeavours to ensure that every business decision—from manufacturing and waste management to deliveries—is made with an environmentally sustainable conscience. All our products are crafted from ethical, sustainable sources, with careful consideration given to global environmental impact, animal welfare, and workers' rights and health and safety throughout our entire supply chain, from ingredients to packaging.

 

Our Environmental Principles

1. Sustainable Ingredients and Sourcing

Premium Natural Materials

​

  • We use only the finest grade, extra virgin, first pressing, organic and unrefined oils and butters

  • No petroleum or mineral oils, artificial fragrances, colours, or preservatives are ever used

  • All oils are extracted through cold press processes, avoiding chemical-based solvents

  • Where possible, we source organic materials that are always unrefined (without bleach)

Responsible Supply Chain

  • We work exclusively with UK-based suppliers for locally available materials

  • Direct importation from growers for specialist ingredients (Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain, Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil from Sri Lanka)

  • All sourcing decisions prioritise environmental impact, worker welfare, and product quality

  • All packaging is designed to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable

  • No plastic materials are used in any packaging solutions

  • Individual soap wrappers are compostable and biodegradable, made from renewable wood pulp cellophane that decomposes in well-managed compost systems and food recycling bins

Paper and Card Materials

​

  • Gift boxes and laundry boxes: 76% recycled card, 24% FSC sustainably sourced card

  • Stickers: Made from 100% recycled paper

  • Tissue paper: Recycled, acid-free, sourced within the EU

  • All business correspondence: Printed on certified recycled paper using recycling-compliant printer systems
